Prof. Dr. Zhiliang Lu is a distinguished bioscientist and biomedical researcher with extensive expertise in pharmacology, GPCR biology, and cell signaling. He is currently a Professor of Biological Sciences at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University , where he also serves as Deputy Head of the Department of Biological Sciences and Director of the Suzhou Municipal Key Laboratory of Cancer Biology and Chronic Disease. After completing his BSc and MSc at Zhejiang University, he earned his PhD in Medicine from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, focusing on G protein-coupled receptors, a central target in drug discovery. Professor Lu has held prestigious research positions at the UK Medical Research Council, including Tenured Programme Leader at the University of Edinburgh, following a Wellcome Trust Postdoctoral Fellowship. His research centers on GPCR signaling, NanoBRET technology, neuropeptide receptors, cancer biology, and mRNA methylation regulation. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications, holds patented technologies in drug screening, Bio-Inspired Robot Design and supervises postgraduate researchers internationally, including as an honorary professor at the University of Liverpool.
